<p>Well, a vehicle without lights is pretty useless in terms of road security and ability which makes lights one of core properties of a vehicle anyway, consequentially, one of core design elements.</p>
<p>It is interesting that people have always attributed some special power to eyes, Super Man had laser vision, a light coming OUT of eyes:</p>

<p>This is contrary to what happens in human eyes (or any other, actually) , really: eyes capture light beams bouncing from surfaces. Vehicles emit light too &#8211; in the same weird fashion as Superman does. Physics aside, vehicle lights are design elements that have something to do with seeing: they ARE are eyes.</p>
<p>To get the wildest ideas for my motorcycle concept I&#8217;ve gone Googling what wild ideas conceptual 3D arists have. Their robo-creatures and sci-fi vehicles are amazing.</p>

<p>BMW has really innovated a lot in terms of lights. For my BMW addict ass this doesn&#8217;t come as a surprise, so here goes a few BMW marvels.<br />

BMW S 1000 RR uneven, strange, peculiar lights. It is hard to miss this bike on road and it sure is something lovers of other brands hate really much.</p>

<p>Hella lights on this r 1100 gs really did the trick. You get much smaller, ligher and brighter, more efficient, better looking, popular and more expensive xenon lights. <p>My first venture in 3D modelling. Software used: Google Sketchup. The motorcycle base was downloaded from Google&#8217;s base of models, the fairing, lights and windshield my work. The whole thing from zero knowledge about 3D design to this concept took me about 6 hours.</p>
<p>I am actually really satisfied with the result I didn&#8217;t dare to dream I would be able to draw anything in 3D as fast.<br />
I&#8217;ll draw some <a title="Danijel's motorcycle concepts" href="http://danijel.kurincic.si/drawing-motorcycles/">other concepts I have done by hand here</a> and then see what becomes of all this.</p>
<p>By the way there is some of online resources for 3D graphics, but none really specialized in motorcycles. <strong> Do you know any?</strong><br />

<p>ABSTRAKT:</p>
<p>Sodobni marketing mobilkomovcev ne opravičuje njigove ponudbe, Apple izdaja nov telefon, ki naj bi pretresel trg mobilnih telekomunikacij in UMTS se že dolgo ne more »odlepiti od tal« (v letlaskem žargonu). Je pristop Apple na mobilni trg le še eden izmed vstopov Appla na nov tehnološki trg, ki ga bodo izpeljali na njihov poseben način in ne bo ta pomenil nič posebnega za ostale ponudnike iste storitve? Ali pa bo Apple spet (kot že večkrat v zgodovini) predstavil nov »killer app« in nakazal prihodnjo smer razvoja tega tehnološkega trga.<br />
Evropski in svetovni mobilkomovci domišljavo sedijo na svojem komunikacijskem prestolu, kjer želijo biti ponudniki povezave, vsebine in tehnoloških produktov naenkrat. Jasno je, da to dolgoročno ne bo zdržalo, in že trend konvergence to spremembo nakazuje &#8211; ponudba brezžičnih komunikacij se bo morala razdeliti, kot se je to zgodilo pri PC-ju (internet, ponudnik dostopa, ponudnik vsebine). To spremembo pa lahko radikalno spodbudijo le nove tehnologije »last mile« dostopa do komunikacijskih virov.<br />
Mobilkomovci so torej ujeti v zanko. Kdor bo prvi prišel z zmagovalno »last mile« kombinacijo žičnih tehnologij, ki bo omogočala odprto komunikacijsko platformo, na kateri se bodo oblikovale vsebinske storitve, bo zmagal. </p>

<p>Mobilni telefoni so že dolgo del našega vsakdanjika, težko si je predstavljati življenje brez njih. Računi pa nas kljub temu vsak mesec presenečajo. Še posebno pa tiste, ki telefonirajo zunaj Slovenije, presenečajo visoke številke stroškov gostovanja (&#8220;roaminga&#8221;). Potrošnik se upravičeno sprašuje, zakaj so te storitve toliko dražje od telefoniranja doma. Še bolj upravičeno se to sprašuje tisti, ki svoj račun tako kot državljani drugih dvanajstih članic Evropske zveze plačuje v evrih. V skupni valuti, na skupnem denarnem trgu, nikakor pa ne po istih cenah. Ali nimamo v Evropski zvezi enotnega notranjega trga?</p>
<p>Trg telekomunikacij ima svoje značilnosti, ki ključno vplivajo na ceno storitev. Mobilni operaterji prodajajo storitve, ki izkoriščajo isto tehnologijo in so si ena drugi povsem podobne, edino, kar se razlikuje, je cena. Tako sledijo operaterji mobilnih komunikacij značilnim, podobnim poslovnim modelom, s katerimi nastopajo na lokalnih trgih, mednarodno pa si ne konkurirajo.</p>
<p>Na lokalnih trgih se je uveljavilo več ponudnikov, ki pa med seboj raje, kot da bi tekmovali, kdo bo imel boljšo storitev, tekmujejo v tem, kdo si bo izmislil več zvijač, kako uporabnika pritegniti in ohraniti v omrežju: od nezmožnosti uporabe iste številke, vrsto let trajajočih pogodb z zapeljivimi nagradami v obliki poceni mobilnikov do cenejših klicev svojih bližnjih; in ne nazadnje, s precej cenejšimi pogovori znotraj omrežja. Cena telefoniranja v konkurenčno omrežje v Sloveniji je precej dražja od telefoniranja v istem omrežju.</p>
<p>Kljub zvijačam, ki si jih ponudniki izmišljajo, je cena telefonskih storitev na lokalnih trgih še vedno deloma konkurenčno določena. Cene storitev gostovanja v tujih omrežjih pa so ponudniki določili sami, z nekakšnim navideznim dogovorom. Potrošniki namreč izbire mobilnega operaterja v domači državi ne oblikujemo glede na njihove cene gostovanja, manj so nam pomembne kot domače cene. Človek na poti tudi jemlje višji strošek komuniciranja za nujno zlo in se v tujini (morda na dopustu) verjetno ne poglablja v zapletene postavke, saj tja ni prišel &#8220;ne računat niti šparat&#8221;. Poslovni modeli ponudnikov mobilnih storitev so si precej podobni in mednarodno si ponudniki ne konkurirajo. Vse to privede do tržno neuravnovešene cene storitev gostovanja, cene, ki so jo samovoljno oblikovali ponudniki in je ne želijo spremeniti. Rezultat takšnega stanja je &#8220;nepravična&#8221; cena za potujočega uporabnika mobilnih storitev.</p>
<p>Evropska zveza se je razširila že na 27 članic, vsi združujemo enoten notranji trg produktov in storitev. Današnja družba je od komuniciranja vse bolj odvisna in Evropejci komuniciramo preko mej vse bolj pogosto. Nesmiselno visoke cene storitev gostovanja se nam zdijo vse bolj problematične, in zato se je komisarka za informacijsko družbo Viviane Reding lani odločila, da bo predlagala nekaj rešitev v dobro evropskih potrošnikov. V Evropski zvezi smo že bili priča neposrednih učinkov uredb Evropske komisije (uredba o prenosljivosti telefonskih številk, razvez lokalne telefonske zanke itd.), ki so v Sloveniji pomagale recimo kakšnemu mobitelovcu prestopiti k Simobilu ali pa kakšnemu siolovcu k T-2, kar je znižalo cene GSM in internetnih komunikacij. Obstoječa zakonodaja pa komisiji do sedaj ni omogočala znižati tudi cen mobilnega gostovanja. Komisija se je zato s predlogom uredbe poleti 2006 namenila vzpostavit regulativo za znižanje cen storitev gostovanja na raven, ki bi odražala osnovne stroške storitve. Vzpostavili bi mehanizem zgornje zaščitne mejne cene. Takšna regulacija bi imela neposreden ugodni učinek za potrošnika, prisilila pa bi tudi operaterje, da bi vsaj deloma spremenili svojo dohodkovno strukturo. Tako bi morali operaterji preveriti tudi svoje investicijske načrte in poslovne rezultate, saj bi se z nižjimi cenami in manjšimi prestopnimi ovirami med omrežji hitreje poznali pravi poslovni rezultati, ki izhajajo iz uvajanja novih storitev in zares prinašajo dodano vrednost potrošniku.</p>
<p>Predlog direktive Evropske komisije je naletel na odpor velikih ponudnikov mobilnih storitev. To so namreč korporacije z velikim vplivom tudi v evropskih inštitucijah, večinoma so tudi državno strateško in politično pomembna podjetja, ki nerada vidijo, da se kdo vmešava v njihov trg telekomunikacij. Nerada tudi vidijo, da jih kdo ozmerja za nepravične in da jim kdo vsili drugačne cene, ki jim narekujejo več investirati in biti bolj učinkoviti.</p>
<p>Postopek zakonodaje v EU je dolgotrajen in zahteven proces in hitro se pozabi, da gre konec koncev za kratkoročno rešitev, da bi se prebudile prave sile trga, in da bo učinkovita le, če bo hitra in uvedena čim prej. Pozabi se tudi, da je govor o storitvah na visokotehnološkem trgu, ki pa ima lepo lastnost, da je izredno spremenljiv in da na njem veljajo posebne zakonitosti. Gre predvsem za zakon kreativnega uničenja (&#8220;creative destruction&#8221;), ki visokotehnološke trge vsake toliko časa revolucionira. To so revolucije, ki jih prinesejo nove tehnologije, izidi takšnih revolucij pa so izdelki, ki potrošnika absolutno prepričajo. Američani jim pravijo &#8220;the next big thing&#8221;. Primeri so telefon, PC, internet, prenosni mp3 predvajalnik glasbe, mobilni telefon itd. Ni skrivnost, da so vsi ti izdelki (razen zadnjega) nastali v ZDA, in hkrati ni naključje, da imajo prav ZDA danes več kot enkrat večje investicije v visokotehnološke izdelke kot EU.</p>
<p>Po drugi strani pa je zanimivo tudi, da je eden največjih in najuspešnejših proizvajalcev zadnjega takšnega produkta &#8211; mobilnega telefona &#8211; evropsko podjetje Nokia, ki se je iz starega finskega proizvajalca gum in škornjev prelevilo v uspešno multinacionalko. Nokia bi danes verjetno težko obstajala, če ne bi bili leta 1982 evropski strokovnjaki s podporo Evropske komisije stopili skupaj in izumili reč, ki ji danes pravimo GSM, standard, ki je združil mobilne naprave po svetu, da lahko komunicirajo med seboj. GSM je danes v uporabi v približno 80 odstotkih držav, ki uporabljajo mobilna omrežja.</p>
<p>Evropa torej ima potencial in tehnologija ji ni tuja, ima pa morda tudi slabo lastnost, da očitno rada zaspi na lovorikah uspeha. GSM-standard je do danes že zastarel, še vedno pa je v polni uporabi. UMTS, ki je ena izmed novih generacij mobilnih komunikacijskih protokolov, je že precej dolgo na trgu. Slovenski Mobitel d.d. je licenco za uporabo kupil že pred tremi leti, od UMTS pa je do danes zaslužil bolj malo. Zakaj? Standard se preprosto ni uveljavil tako hitro, večji evropski operaterji ga nočejo uvesti, saj so s sedanjim položajem na trgu popolnoma zadovoljni. Še več, s svojo odločitvijo za zastareli GSM-standard operaterji vplivajo na proizvajalce opreme in krog se zaključi s tem, ko postanejo z velikimi naročili telefonski aparati poceni in se uvajajo še povsod tam, kjer bi se lahko uveljavili novi standardi innačini komunikacij.</p>
<p>Znova je za problem kriva tržna nepravilnost. Ponudniki si niso prisiljeni konkurirati in uporabniki imamo visoke cene storitev, Evropa pa samozadovoljna podjetja brez iniciative za investiranje in inovacije.</p>
<p>ZDA v nasprotju z Evropo veliko vlagajo v razvoj drugih konkurenčnih standardov, ki omogočajo veliko pretočnost podatkov in množico novih storitev. Še posebno slikovit primer uporabe novih tehnologij je pred kratkim od družbe Apple napovedan iPhone, ki se je zmožen širokopasovno povezovati na Applovo internetno multimedijsko trgovino. Tudi Google, Internetni gigant, ki je brezžična wi-fi omrežja postavil v že precej mestih v Ameriki, je z vključitvijo svoje &#8220;Google maps&#8221; storitve v nov telefon opozoril na alternativno širokopasovno brezžično povezavo.</p>
<p>In morda še to &#8211; v Ameriki gostovanje ni problematično, preprosto ga ni, obstaja resnično enoten trg. Tudi v Sloveniji razvijamo alternativne tehnologije: že omenjeni Mobitel z vpeljavo UMTS-tehnologije med prvimi v Evropi,Telekom Slovenije z naložbo v makedonskega ponudnika širokopasovnega internet dostopa On.Net, T-2 družba z VDSL tehnologijo ter po novem tudi UMTS in optičnimi povezavami. V Sloveniji smo s pomočjo alternativne tehnologije, z malo evropske pravne pomoči, učinkovito zbodli telekomunikacijski trg na ključnem mestu.</p>
<p>Bodisi s posredovanjem Evropske komisije ali pa samodejno s tehnološko revolucijo se bo moral trg telekomunikacij v Evropski zvezi temeljito spremeniti, kar pomeni, da bodo morali najprej odnos do uporabnikov in razvoja spremeniti ponudniki storitev, uporabniki pa to zahtevati. Evropska zveza bo ta problem reševala z zakonodajo, Slovenija pa lahko lažje kot z glasom v parlamentu prispeva k razvoju telekomunikacijskega trga z razvijanjem novih visokih tehnologij in poslovnih modelov, ki bodo pripeljali trg na naslednjo stopnjo.</p>
